OPENING DAY CEREMONIES !

LATROBE LITTLE LEAGUE OPENING DAY CEREMONY !

Sunday was opening day at Latrobe Little League. We honored Chuck Trumbetta who passed away unexpectedly February 25, 2021. Chuck was a board member, fundraiser and coach for 23 years with Latrobe Little League. Latrobe Little League Board voted to name the concession stand in memory of Chuck and thank you to Brandon Simpson for bringing up the idea of the sign.. "The Chuck Trumbetta Concession Stand".
Chuck's children Christopher, Patrick and Cassie all played in Latrobe Little League. His son Chris and daughter Cassie threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Brother Patrick could not get back from Las Vegas, so the event was livestreamed for him.
About 15 years ago, Chuck would cook up "Trumbetta Spaghetta" and sell it in centerfield, donating the money back to the league. Trust me, it was great spaghetti ! If you got there during the second game on a Sunday, it was probably gone. From this action, the team moms would make up something every Sunday after Chuck retired from the spaghetti gig. Chuck's spaghetti was legendary...           Chuck got us into our first Cash Bash 20 years ago, then it became a Golf Bash and is a Gun Bash now. His countless hours of planning and leading these fundraisers, along with help of our volunteers, have helped to make the facilities look as great as they do.
